hikiko-san why do you use variable framerate now? It is big problem for trying to do anything with the source like remastering :(

Most likely for compression reasons. Lots of anime have repetitive frames and "talking heads" that demand less frames so it kind of helps in making encode sizes as low as possible. VFR is one of the old ways, though. File storage/bandwidth isn't as huge of an issue nowadays compared to about decade ago. CFR has huge benefits like not fucking up the softsubs audio sync especially in transcoding, so that is more preferred whenever possible.

@Tennouji yes but the gain is miniscule, and like you say it causes a lot of problems. I do remastering and RIP sync like you mention. Since Hikiko123 is basically the only source we have nowadays it's a shame it's not maximum quality rips with CFR. Then other people could transcode it for smaller size if people need.

I think the encode is well done. VFR helps to make some scenes smoother.
